Escape Room Arlington

We have tried many escape rooms before but Escape Room Arlington definitely is one of our best experiences. We were so impressed with Mind trap that we came back the next day to try Supervillain. Both rooms were well-designed with a good mix of padlocks and magnetic locks. The puzzles were clever, non-linear, challenging but not unreasonably difficult. The stories flowed very well, especially with the Mind trap room. Staff were very friendly and helpful as well. We managed to escape both rooms and had a fantastic time! We look forward to coming back and trying the other 2 rooms :)

We had SO much fun! The lobby is decorated really cool and they have puzzles for you to do while you wait for your room. There was no wait though - they were able to accommodate our group a few minutes early before our reservation time. The staff is great and very helpful. The room was fantastic! It was a little hard for our group (5 13yos) but the staff helped us with clues and we escaped just in time. Retro Replay was such a cool theme! Can’t wait to return.

If you find yourself in Arlington, VA, and wanting to escape some rooms, then get over to Escape Room Arlington. They’ve got four well-designed rooms (as of this writing — one more coming in Fall of 2019!), comfy common areas, a delightful staff — and even a fridge filled with free cool drinks! Escape Room Arlington fits our long history of not being able to find the place right away. (Whether that’s a feature of escape rooms or of the Escape Couple, we couldn’t say…). GPS will take you to the apartment that appears to occupy most of the building — the Escape Room is around the corner, tucked down a side street (and next to a fantastic massage parlor, if you need to work out some knots after a day of escaping). Once we found the place, it did not disappoint. We were very fortunate to get all four rooms to ourselves, despite being in the Washington Metro Area where the escape rooms are frequently busy (Pro tip: Go in the middle of a weekday!). The staff welcomed us with free water bottles from the fridge, and fun little puzzles kept us occupied while we waited in comfy leather seats for the room to be ready. And the rooms themselves were a blast. Super Villains was our personal favorite and is good for those wanting a challenge. Glitch is super unique and unlike any room we have ever done - you start in an empty white room. Secret in the Attic is a perfect room for beginners who are learning what the heck an escape room is. Mind Trap is great is you are looking for some spooky thrills with your escape. Game masters were great for every room. They will provide nudges, but are happy to customize them to your desired level. While normally $28 a person, Escape Room Arlington does offer military discounts as well as a friends-and-family discount if you’re doing multiple rooms. We will definitely be back to check out their new room, Poe, after it opens in October 2019.

My partner and I are pretty experienced in escape rooms, but these four rooms blew us away! They were ALL top tier, exceptionally well done. We loved the mood of the rooms, all the puzzles were very unique and outside-the-box, and maybe most importantly, the rooms were in excellent condition, everything worked seamlessly. The only thing we'd update are the slide goggles in the Arcade Room, those weren't working super well – or maybe it was just us. Also, a huge shoutout to Caitlin, who was just the kindest and most patient host we ever met in any escape room. Thanks guys, we'll definitely be back when the new room opens!

My family and I had a great experience here! Everyone I talked to, from planning the visit to the visit itself, was helpful, courteous, and great with my kids. It's hard to find an activity that will interest both my elementary-aged kids and my senior dad, but this did. They even put a few more minutes on the clock when we were almost out of time but so close to finishing. We did the Poe-themed room, and I loved all the literary touches. Well done, Escape Room Arlington! We'll definitely be back.
